Three years of targeted sustainability work pay off – systematic improvements lead to recognition among the top 15% worldwide.
In July 2025, the coeo Group was awarded the silver medal in the EcoVadis ESG rating – a significant milestone for the group's sustainability management. With an overall score of 70/100 points, coeo now ranks among the top 15% of companies worldwide and among the top 9% within its own industry (collection agencies and credit bureaus).
Three years of systematic progress in ESG management
The coeo Group's participation in the EcoVadis rating began in 2023 with an initial voluntary assessment – as a starting point for the strategic development of sustainability at group level. The bronze medal was achieved the following year, in 2024. The silver medal awarded in 2025 is visible recognition of the successful work carried out in recent years.
Overall, the total score improved by 32 points compared to the initial assessment in 2023 – an extraordinary increase that is the result of concrete measures, structured analysis processes, and a clear ESG roadmap. This was based on a systematic approach following the proven PDCA cycle, supplemented by targeted implementation recommendations from previous assessments.
Focus on concrete improvements: sustainable procurement and supplier management
In 2024, the coeo Group introduced a group-wide supplier management system that sets new standards in dealing with existing and potential suppliers. The focus is on due diligence checks on integrity, information security, ESG criteria, and compliance. These checks are an integral part of the selection process and are supplemented by ongoing evaluation and monitoring.
These measures ensure that high standards of sustainability and responsibility are also maintained in the supply chain—a key aspect of the positive EcoVadis rating.
Structural development through international standards
In parallel with thematic development, the structural foundations of ESG management have also been continuously strengthened. In the area of governance in particular, the coeo Group relies on uniform, transparent processes and guidelines throughout the entire group of companies.
A key element here is the ongoing certification of the management systems of the operating companies in accordance with internationally recognized standards:
- ISO/IEC 27001 – Information security management
- ISO 14001 – Environmental management
- ISO 9001 – Quality management
These standards create trust, transparency, and reliability—both internally and toward customers, partners, and stakeholders.
Sustainability strategically anchored
The current silver award confirms that sustainability is an integral part of the coeo Group's corporate strategy—not as a one-time initiative, but as part of a professional and dynamic management system designed for continuous improvement.
“We do not see the award as an end point, but as confirmation and motivation to continue consistently on the path we have chosen – with clear goals, robust structures, and a holistic ESG perspective,” says the ESG Officer of the coeo Group.
